This season is off to a good start. My good friend Aaron Otto ( Sleeping In the Dirt, Again ) flew in for a weekend of fishing and it didn’t suck! A few pics to punctuate the trip!

I was finally able to return the favor, for a fantastic trip in AZ, and get Mr Otto up to UT for a weekend of fishing. Spring fishing is always a sketchy proposition, but for as bad as it “could have been” … I think we fared well! I’ll let the photos do most of the talking.

1st things 1st … A little scouting the weekend before with, Mr Barnes. The fishing looked like it wouldn’t totally suck. So, the weekend was “on”.

Friday night was the airport pickup and drive for a couple hours of fishing before chilling out with Doug and another buddy over a couple beers. Aaron has a wicked good cast…

and the choice! A) Nymphs or B) Streamers

Aaron’s first fish

We stuck a fish or two on nymphs, but in the end choice (B) won out for the remainder of the day!

And a few more …

Doug ( Now Picture This ), who had joined us for the first day of fishing, had to take off for a weekend job .. So, it was time for the other side of the coin for this trip. We were off to look for El Tigre…

Its always cool when you get to fish with guys you have gotten to know online. Yesterday was one of those days…. Online (and now real life) friend Lee Church and his girlfriend Laura were passing through my neighborhood on the way home to Minnesota! I was more than happy to get out with them on my favorite local river for a few hours.

The day was beautiful, overcast, and rainy. Started off slow, but ended with a bang! Started the morning and couldn’t keep the whitefish off … But later, we ended the day hitting a hole with about 8 fish rising and they started goin after it! Pretty quick strikes, but Lee managed to stick one. I hung out and shot a few pics! Was a great time.
